Make a pair of these sweet pears to celebrate your loved one on Valentine’s Day ❤


We Make a Great ‘Pear’ Pattern

Materials:

  • Main color yarn
  • Stem color yarn
  • Leaf color yarn
  • Black yarn (for sewing the mouth)
  • 12mm safety eyes (x2)
  • Crochet hook, size 4.5mm
  • Stuffing

Abbreviations:

*Crochet terms are US terms

  • MC = magic circle
  • SC = single crochet
  • DC = double crochet
  • HDC = half double crochet
  • INC = increase
  • DEC = decrease
  • SS = slip stitch
  • CH = chain
  • * = repeat around

Pear:

  • Using the main color…
    • SC 8 in MC (8)
    • INC * (16)
    • SC 1, INC * (24)
    • SC 2, INC * (32)
    • SC 3, INC * (40)
    • SC 4, INC * (48)
    • SC * (48)
    • SC * (48)
    • SC * (48)
    • SC 4, DEC * (40)
    • SC * (40)
    • SC * (40)
    • SC * (40)
    • SC 3, DEC * (32)
    • SC * (32)
    • SC * (32)
    • SC * (32)
    • SC * (32)
    • SC 2, DEC * (24)
    • SC 2, DEC * (18)
  • Add the 12mm safety eyes between Round 11 and Round 12, about 7 stitches apart
  • Using black yarn, sew on the mouth
  • Begin stuffing, and continue stuffing from here to the end. Make sure to use enough stuffing to round out the pear shape

    • SC 7, DEC * (16)
    • SC 6, DEC * (14)
    • SC 5, DEC * (12)
  • Add any more stuffing if needed, then finish off and leave a tail to sew closed the opening at the top of the pear. Weave the tail into the pear.

Stem (x1):

  • Using the stem color…
    • CH 5, starting in the second chain from the hook, DC 1, HDC 1, SC 1, SS 1
  • Finish off and leave a long tail for sewing

Leaf (x1):

  • Using the leaf color…
    • CH 8, starting in the second chain from the hook, SS 1, SC 1, HDC 1, DC 1, HDC 1, SC 1, SS 1
  • Finish off and leave a long tail for sewing

Assembly:

Now it’s time to assemble all the pieces together!

  • Sew the stem to the top of the pear
  • Sew the leaf next to the stem
